VDSL
VDSL High Speed Internet
After successfully providing VDSL services in towers and apartment complexes, Shatel has started providing these services in some telecommunication centers throughout the country and will soon expand the areas covered by VDSL services following a coherent development plan.
What is VDSL?
VDSL, or Very High-Speed Digital Subscriber Line, is a method of accessing the new generation of fixed high-speed Internet services, which provides the access to the Internet service with a speed several times faster than other services. For the first time in the country, Shatel offers VDSL services, which is known as a revolution in internet connection speed, to customers using the latest equipment and technology.
It is worth mentioning that upgrading the previous generation of ADSL2+ services to VDSL is also very fast and cost-effective that leads to a great change in the user experience of fixed high-speed Internet services.
How is VDSL service provided?
VDSL is provided in one of the following methods:
- Proximity to Shatel cabinets and service provision on FTTC platform
One way to provide VDSL high speed internet is to place cabinets containing equipment in different areas of the city. In this case, it is possible to provide high-speed VDSL internet to users who are within close proximity to these cabinets. In this method, users can have access to the service using a VDSL modem.
- Residential Towers and Apartment Blocks
In some residential and office towers and apartment blocks, VDSL services can be provided by installing cabinets and VDSL service equipment in the tower or block. In this case, the residents of the tower or block can have access to the service using a VDSL modem.
However, note that in all of these methods, even with the same ADSL modems, you can experience speeds of up to 20 Mbps in VDSL services.
Advantages of VDSL:
- A speed ten times faster than the average speed of other services
In previous generations of fixed Internet services, users experienced an average speed of up to 8 Mbps, and in exceptional cases of up to 16 Mbps, but now high-speed VDSL lines can provide users with an average download speed of up to 80 Mbps. This is almost 10 times faster than the average speed of the previous generation of fixed Internet services.
- High upload speed
In high-speed ADSL internet service, the speed of sending (uploading) information was almost one-eighth of the speed of receiving it (downloading), but in Shatel VDSL services, the upload speed increases from 1.5 to 2 Mbps to 20 to 40 Mbps and you will experience an upload speed ten times faster.
- A more enjoyable experience in all online activities
VDSL can provide users with more enjoyable experience in all online activities, especially streaming, playing online games, video chats, and downloading and uploading large files.
- Access to higher speeds at an affordable cost
This service allows the user to have access to much higher speeds at an affordable cost compared to other services.
