Shatel set up in 2002 by receiving ISP and ICP licenses from the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, to providing Internet access services. Activities initially started by 20 experts and professionals mainly with providing Dial- up Internet services and International calling cards. In a year along with Internet usage expansion, regulation of radio services in the country and increased organizations` demand for Internet services, Shatel successfully received PAP license from TCI which led to incredible expand in its services and activities. By receiving mentioned licenses and remarkable investments, Shatel provides ADSL2+ and its related additional services such as VODSL, VOD, VPN and E- learning requirements for customers.
By expansion of activities, other services as DSL and wireless broadband and specific solutions for organizations in field of Local and International Communications added to the products and services cart. Furthermore, acquiring FCP license in 2015 was another great step to offering latest services by this group. FCP license as a comprehensive license issued to this group to establish and exploit fixed communication networks independent of technology.
As the first ADSL2+ service provider in Iran, Shatel takes a large share of high speed Internet customers market and additional services within home users, companies and organizations so that, now over 3 million users utilize more than 800 thousand active services and Shatel high speed Internet services. All these make Shatel a superb name among other ISPs in the country.
